Welcome to The Daniel Rust House Bed and Breakfast.
Innkeepers Germaine & Cathy have fulfilled their dreams of establishing the type of B&B that they cherished during their travels throughout New England & the Mid Atlantic States. One where guests feel comfortable to sit and chat while breakfast is being made, where conversation with fellow travelers is a renewed tradition and where one can go and relax in the privacy of a beautifully appointed room.
Filled with period antiques, all from their private collections, they welcome you into their home via the kitchen! Un-traditional? Yes! Cozy, Comfy & so very reminiscent of home? Definitely! You will very often be greeted at the door with the scintillating scent of home baked goodies that Germaine is preparing for your stay.
After 25 years in the dog grooming business establishing the very successful Royal Treatment Grooming Parlour in northern New Jersey, Cathy & Germaine decided to achieve another desired goal, to live in an historic house & share such a treasure with the public (and their canine family members too!).
Germaine designs and creates all the floral arrangements and decorative touches found throughout their home. Every morning you will enjoy a delicious breakfast on a different formal place setting and depending upon the season, the tables are decorated appropriately.
Germaine & Cathy's love of entertaining does not end at breakfast.
During warm months, you may return to find the fire pit roaring, beckoning guests to join in the fun of drinks and dessert by the "campfire".
In the colder months, the Keeping Room hearth is nearly always lit and Cathy will pour you a nightcap while the conversation flows.
Midnight and J.Q.Adams (Quincy for short),
the house cats, enjoy meeting guests too.
Not to worry, the house has a hospital grade air purifier that removes dander and other allergens.
Being born and bred "Jersey girls" from just
outside NYC, Cathy & Germaine are enjoying
the change from the nightlife of Manhattan to
the atmosphere of the Quiet Corner of Connecticut and all it has to offer.
Won't you come pop in for a visit and relax with us?
