The Daniel Rust House offers a variety of charming rooms decorated with period furnishings from the American Colonial era. Each room is named after a woman who had once lived in the house and is as unique as its namesake.

All our rooms have private bathrooms and air conditioning; our Maybell Cottage offers additional amenities that make it a wonderful choice for guests seeking an extended stay or little extras.

"Anna White Room" - $185 per night
Named after the wife of Daniel Rust who lived in the house from 1731 to 1748. After the rustic conditions she lived in, we thought it appropriate to name our nicest suite after her. This air-conditioned room has a queen-sized canopy bed and a working fireplace. The luxury private bath features a two-person whirlpool tub, robes, and a hair dryer.

"Mary Rose Room" - $160 per night, double occupancy
Mary Rose was the original innkeeper; this air-conditioned room features a
private bath, working fireplace, and a queen-sized canopy bed. A secret
closet was believed to have hidden slaves traveling to freedom on the Underground Railroad.

"The Mercy Rust Room" - $120 per night, double occupancy
Named after Daniel Rust's eldest daughter, this air-conditioned room features a 3/4 bed and a twin bed, and a private bath with tub/shower and hair dryer. This room is accessed by a private, narrow, staircase. If you have difficulty with stairs, please consider one of our other rooms.

"The Maybell Cottage"
$175 per night
Maybell was Daniel Rust's youngest daughter. The cottage offers a fully equipped kitchen, a private bath with shower and hair dryer, a king-sized bed that can be converted to two twin beds, and a TV.

Check in and out:
Check in is after 3:00 pm and check out is by 11:00 am. We are flexible on these times and will do our best to accommodate your schedule.

Rates for canines: $10 added to room fee. Prior to departure, we inspect rooms and charges will be added if any damage has been done.

Cancellation Policy:
All rates are based on double occupancy and are subject to CT tax. A credit card or 50% deposit is required to hold the room. Some rooms are large enough to accommodate a third person at a cost of $35 per night. If your plans change and you need to cancel, please notify us within 7 days. All UConn events, holidays, and some special packages require a 21-day cancellation notice.

NOTE: We regret that we must bill the full amount of the room if we are not notified of your cancellation. We cannot be held responsible for cancellations due to personal emergencies or weather-related transportation issues.

Restrictions:
We regret that we do not have the facilities to accommodate children under the age of 13; please ask about our pet policy.

For the comfort of our guests and the preservation of this historic property, we do not permit smoking in any of the guest rooms or common areas.

A two-night minimum is required on U Conn event weekends and all weekends from September 15 through October 31. If a single night is requested during these dates, there will be a 20% surcharge for any single night stay. This surcharge also applies to single-night stays for all major holidays.
